Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach is a place that belongs on the front of a postcard. The crumbling cliffs, the fiery sunsets, the beaches that have sand in all the right places but still have rocky points that offer a domesticated ruggedness… it is little wonder why an artist community sprouted and thrives at this location. Aside from the eye candy, there is exceptional food, festivals, parks, and people. If you find yourself in Southern California and are looking to escape the clutches of corporate Starbucks, the Koffee Klatch is the place to chill out into the wee hours of the morning and engage in Kerouac-style conversation. Located south of the trendy downtown, this place is a safe haven of comfy couches, tasty espresso and desserts that will make a grown lumberjack weep. Do not exit this building without first indulging in the carrot cake. If you are looking for a meal with a view, then Splashes is the place to dine. The service is excellent and the food is spendy, but it is a great place to look fabulous and impress a date. Living up to its name, Splashes has the Pacific Ocean lapping at its foundation, causing an occasional sea spray against the windows. The Zinc Café and Market offers a great downtown spot for gourmet breakfast and lunch. Taco Loco serves the best fish tacos in town, and has good vegetarian options (like the blackened tofu taco). Main beach is the social hot spot for volleyball, street musicians, skim boarding, basketball, and excellent people-watching. After the sun goes down, the boardwalk is open for a stroll.
