Lake Forest

Lake Forest

Lake Forest is ranked one of the safest cities in the country along with its neighbors Mission Viejo and Irvine, and boasts schools with high academic achievement scores. It is defined by two master planned communities, Foothill Ranch and Portola Hills. These developments spawned the business headquarters of Oakley, Wet Seal, and Kaiser Aluminum, boosting the job market of the region. Two man-made lakes provide water-front property for condominiums and custom homes whose residents enjoy a tennis club, sailing club, gymnasiums, basketball courts, volleyball courts, swimming pools, hot tubs and club houses. Historically, there were 400 acres of Eucalyptus trees planted in the region for lumber. Large parts of the Eucalyptus groves have been developed but still stand today. These features, the lakes and the forest, are what give the city its name.
